Jude's "Marching Pirates" 52-piecc band will make its first appearance in a parade and on the field Friday, during the celebration of St. Jude High's homecoming. The band is under direction of Al Stringer. This will be the first year for a band leader to work on a full time basis with an aggregation made up of elementary and junior high students at St. Jude.

The band will participate in the St. Jude street parade, starting Friday at 3 p.m., then perform at halftime of the St Jude-talholic came, in Hornet Stadium, Friday night. According to Stringer, the band will play such popular hits as "Yesterday" and "What The World Needs Now" along with the school song and National Anthem at the game.
