Guaranteed Suits We are Selling at The jury in the case of Henry Henderson, accused or the murder of Richard Derrick, in the Montgomery city court, rendered a vr-dict of "not guilty" as charged this morning.

The testimony, it appears, was only of a weak circumstantial character, and the statement of Derrick himself that Henderson struck him, as told by Derrick's wife on the stand, was evidently not given the utmost credence. The case of the negro, Bob Glass, is now on trial before the court, Wait For My Aberdeen Angus Sale! HURDLE, Hoily Springs, Miss. fir TT A If the rumored sale of the Chattanooga Southern to the Louisville and Nashville is confirmed; it means the operation of a new and direct route from Montgomery to Cincinnati, is the opinion expressed by W. T. Cooper, traveling freight agent of the Norfolk and Western railway, company, who is in the city. Mr.

Cooper states that the Chattanooga Southern Is a short line from Chattanooga to Gadsden and is the only link needed by the Louisville and Nashville to complete the direct trunk line from Cincinnati to New Orleans via Knoxville, Chattanooga, Gadsden and Montgomery. The Louisvi'le and Nashville now has only about thirty miles from Chattanooga, at Etowah, Tenn. If the thirty miles from Etowah to Chattanooga is bridged and the Chattanooga Southern purchased, it will be seen that a complete system is constructed simply by combining the branches already owned by the Louisville and Nashville. In addition to making a new trunk line it will be very advantageous to Montgomery by opening up a territory hitherto not reached, conveniently, out of this city. It will provide a fast train service between this city and Anniston, Gadsden and Chattanooga, which will also be of great benefit to Montgomery.

It is the opinion in railroad circles that the sale has been made but no confirmation has yet been given out. Mr. Cooper states tbat his road has been receiving a good share of the business sent out of Motngom-ery and that It is enjoying a healthy increase. charged with the murder of Bob Williams. The case is a peculiar one.

The killing took place out near the Washington Park car line about two months ago. The difficulty occurred between Glass and another negro, and, it is claimed, Glass shot at the negro, striking him on the chin, the ball glancing and striking Bob Williams and killing nim. The killing was a decided sorrow to Glass, according to a street car conductor who was talking about it this morning, as the man killed was a bosom friend of Glass, and was like a brother to him. The same conductor, who said that he knew all the negroes well, they having ridden often on his car, remarked that both Glass, who did the killing, and Williams, who was killed, were excellent negroes.
