"He woke up in a morgue and walked into the hall to get clothes to go home," Paul Freehling said.

He took over the music shop from his father in the 1920s and later locations in Dothan and Columbus, Ga. Over the years, thousands of Montgomery area schoolchildren got their musical instruments from the shop. "He worked six days a week all his life. He was able to overcome a lot and established one of the largest music companies in the nation," Paul Freehling said. He said his father had a special gift for repairing instruments.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers, Ruby Lee, Lucille Moon, Georgia Mae Hunt, Harold Wallace Hunt and John Alvia Hunt, Sr. all of Wetumpka. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mrs. Louise 12 children, at which two preceded him in death, Tracy and Phyllis Hunt. Mr. Lowe was the owner of Lowe Jewelry Company for 45 years before he retired. He was an Elder of the Demopolis Church of Christ and served in the Navy Air Corps. He was past president of the Chamber of Commerce of Demopolis and also past president of the Rotary Club. He served eight years on the Board of Arts and Humanities.

James David, 34, of Ellensburg, WA met an untimely accidental death at his home Thursday, April 10, 1998. He was born March 1, 1964 in Tacoma, WA and is preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Lorraine Nall Hendrix. Survivors include his wife, Mary Hendrix; two sons, Jacob Daniel and Alexander David "Sashaboy" Hendrix and one daughter, Sarah Juliette Hendrix. Also surviving are his father, Robert Thomas Hendrix, Sr. and step-mother, Alice Jo of Lake Martin, AL; one brother, Robert Thomas Hendrix, and his wife, Diane, children, Megan, Danny and Amber of Ellensburg; one sister, Sherril Hendrix Lent and her husband, Darin, children, Kelli and Kasey of Kent, WA; and his paternal grandmother, Martha Burgess of Columbus, GA.

He was lifelong resident of Washington State and was employed in October of 1990 at Kelleher Motor Company as their Finance and Insurance Manager. Prior to this, he was an independent insurance agent for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. in the Ellensburg area. Many respected Dave's thoughts and opinions on a variety of matters and therefore he had a positive effect on a great number of people. He was known, liked and loved, and above all, respected by many.

He was concerned with and held the office of President of the Children of Chernobyl of Ellensburg. He enjoyed flying, sports and particularly the outdoors and frequently hiked and backpacked with his family and friends. He was often seen in the mornings with Sasha on his back ready for a walk. He was an avid reader and did considerable traveling abroad. Family was important to Dave and he was actively involved with the home schooling of his children.

He was a devoted and loving father and husband and will be missed by his many friends and relatives. Funeral services will be held at the Christian Missionary Alliance (CMA) Church in Ellensburg Tuesday, April 14, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. with graveside services following. Mrs. Stokes actively worked with political campaigns at the local and state levels, and was fondly referred to as the Mayor of Broadmoor by some local officials.
