Grubbs was the son of the late James Samuel and Marion Smart Grubbs; a lifelong resident of Clayton, AL, he joined the Clayton Baptist Church at an early age, where he remained a member; he was an Auburn University graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree, and was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternities and the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Phi; he served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Captain, retired after 32 years with the Alabama Department of Examiners of Public Affairs and operated the Sam W. Grubbs Accounting Firm in Clayton for several years after his retirement. Turner's LUVERNE HOLLAND, Mrs. Cumi Cauthen, 72, a resident of Rt.
