He was born in a sod house in North Dakota just before it attained statehood. Moving to New Jersey in the 9th grade, he attended Matawan High School where he met Florence who was to become his wife. He also gained an interest in architecture, later forming Doyle Brothers Construction Company with his father and brothers. He was the self-taught architect for many buildings they constructed. As the youngest foreman at U.

S. Steel's Kearney Shipyard, he oversaw the construction of battleships during World War II. Harold was a skilled stone-mason and loved working with wood as well. He had a gentle sense of humor, an inherent fascination with the natural world and was known for never getting lost in the woods. He had a special place in his heart for children and animals.

He is remembered by his friends and family as never being too busy to visit with them or give help when it was needed. No one ever had to ask, he just knew. Harold and Florence lived for many years on a farm in Birmingham, New Hampshire, where they nurtured a fine garden and several grandchildren. After a debilitating stroke, Harold spent the last 8 years at North Valley Hospital Extended Care where he was looked after with the gentleness and compassion he deserved. He is survived by his three children, Shirley Short, Montgomery, AL, Noele Clews, Portsmouth, NH and Toren McCarthy, Kalispell, two sisters, Essie Heidel, Port Charlotte, FL and Stella Wenworth, Hazlet, NJ; and his grandchildren, Sonia, Eric and Martin Voskuil, Natasha and Christiana Clews and Madison, Logan and Orion Hutchin.

Funeral services for Mr. Doyle were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 1994, in the Johnson Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Marvin Northeutt, Pastor of the Epworth MethChurch officiated.

Burial followed in the Conrad Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Johnson Mortuary. MOSES, William 86, of Palm Harbor, died Monday, December 26, 1994, at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital, Tarpon Springs, FL. He was born in Birmingham, AL and moved to Tarpon Springs in 1972 from Macon, GA. He served for 22 years in the Air Force.

He was an Episcopalian and a member of Lake Tarpon Boat Club.
