Sunday June 28. 1964 04 CELEBRATE -Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stearns observed their golden wedding anniversary 14 in the home of their son, Sam Stearns on Dorchester Drive. Among the 200 guests present were their seven sons, George Cecil, Harold and James, all of Atlanta, Sam, Earl and Fred.

Also present were Mrs. Stearns' mother, Mrs. George Foster, and her sister, Miss Gladys Foster of Pensacola, and her brother, W. O. Foster, of Tuscaloosa.

The couple's five granddaughters assisted in serving and their three grandsons greeted the guests. Carol Clark Becomes Bride Of Benjamin Francis Nolen MRS. B. F. NOLEN NorsworthyGordy Vows Said June 20 COLUMBUS, Ga.

Miss Inda Ruth 1 Gordy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Bussey Gordy of Columbus, became the bride of Jimmy Norsworthy, son of Mrs. James Garfield Norsworthy of Campbellton and the late Mr. Norsworthy, in 1 a 7 p.m.

James Edward Miles, sister of the groom, and Miss Patricia Rice. Junior bridesmaids, Miss Beverly Gordy, the bride's sister, and Miss Lila Ann Gordy, cousin of the bride, wore aqua dresses in the same style as attendants'. The bride wore a formal gown of silk organza and Chantilly lace. The front panel of the bouffant skirt was tiered, and ruffles formed a back panel that extended into a chapel train. A crown of seed pearls held an illusion fingertip veil.

G. Thornton of Enterprise. Rev. James Rich performed the ceremony at 7 p.m. Organist was Miss Flora Ward, and Charles Roney, cousin of the bride, sang.

The bride's cousin, Miss Gayle Bond, was maid of honor. Other attendants were Wanda Hodges, cousin of the bride, and Mary Helen Deal, both of Newville. Flower girls were Sherri Lynn Royals, the bride's sister, and Marsha Parrish, the groom's cousin. Attendants wore yellow dresses, with white lace jackcarried white roses. The flower girls carried baskets of yellow roses.

Furman Gastel Mitchell of Luverne. The bride-to-be attended Howard College in Birmingham where she affiliated with Alpha Delta Pi social sorority. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theus Riley Couey of Chickasaw, and Mrs.

John Newton McBride Jr. and the late Mr. McBride of Greenville. The groom elect received his B.S. degree from Auburn University where he was president of Pi Kappa Phi social fraternity and served as editor of the Tiger Cub, a student publication.

Mr. Mitchell now attends the University of Alabama Law School where he will receive his Bachelor of Laws degree next June. He affiliates with Phi i Alpha Delta legal fraternity. Grandparents of the future groom are Mrs. Peter Mallie Mitchell and the late Mr.

Mitchell of Luverne, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Sydney Johnson Burnum of Scottsboro. The couple plan to be married Aug. 23 at 2:30 p.m.

The music was provided by John Burkett, organist, and Thomas Searcy, vocalist. Mrs. William Allan Clark, sister in-law of the bride, was honor attendant and bridesmaids were Miss Ann Reid and Miss Joy Nolen, sister of the groom. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white peau de soie. The bodice was trimmed in motifs of Alencon lace re-embroidered in pearls.

The bouf- fant skirt extended into a short train. Her fingertiplength veil of silk illusion was secured to a lace crown trimmed in sequins and pearls. She carried a cascade arrangement of lilies-of-thevalley, a detachable orchid and stephanotis. The attendants wore dresses of peau de soie designed with scooped necklines and bellshaped skirts. The honor attendant wore pink, and mintgreen was worn by the other attendants.

They carried cascade arrangements of pink rosebuds and English ivy. Mr. Nolen was served by his father as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were M. D.
